School-Centred ITT

The Solent SCITT

Training the next generation of outstanding teachers

If you’re looking for school-centred primary training, this is the option for you. You’ll be training in a school from day one supported by a team of enthusiastic, knowledgable and outstanding practitioners. If you complete the course successfully, you’ll be awarded QTS and a PGCE.

We’ve created a training package which effectively combines the best of school and university training. Your programme will include bespoke opportunities to develop primary practice in some of the best schools in the region.

The SCITT is based at the Dickinson Centre which is part of Park Community School. Our partner schools are committed to training exceptional teachers; all trainees have gained teaching posts many in the local area.

If you choose to train and work within our alliance partnership, the teaching school will help to develop your career. We have a wide range of professional development opportunities for newly qualified teachers (NQTs), recently qualified teachers (RQTs) and aspiring leaders.

SCITT and School Direct places are available in our Alliance schools and last for one year. Click here for a list of the schools we are working with to provide the best training for all our trainees. Financial support is available for tuition fees and there are bursaries for those with at least a 2:1 degree. Successful completion of the programme will lead to the award of qualified teacher status (QTS), and have the opportunity to achieve an M level PGCE in Pedagogy & Practice validated by the University of Sussex.
